Article Information

Background There was a Take Back the Night March in Pembroke.
Reason The original date for the TBTN march was the site of a triple femicide in the county. The march was rescheduled and was much more sombre as people were still reeling from the murders the week before.
Comment It was great to see the article reflecting the vibe of the march and the important issues that were raised.
Outcome It's encouraging to see people framing the femicides as such. Too often, people frame femicide as "senseless tragedies", which they are, but they are also intentional acts of violence that are part of systemic violence against womyn. Framing it as such is crucial.
