I give lots of presentations and workshops on campuses across the country, talking about sexual violence and bystander intervention. Concordia produced a short video outlining some key information about what it means to be an effective bystander.
I am often called upon as a subject matter expert on violence against women. After the triple femicide in Wilno on September 22, 2015, I was asked to give context to the systemic problem of violence against women in Canada.
Having won the Governor General's Award in Commemoration of the Persons Case (2013), I was a panelist at a Famous Five Luncheon.
I am available to provide training, public education workshops and conference talks in both English and French on a variety of topics:
- Bystander intervention
- Rape culture 101 (What it is and what we can do about it)
- Creative resistance
- How to support survivors of sexual violence
- How to bring young women into the movement/campaign/project
I am also happy to work with you to tailor a presentation based on your organizational needs.
Public education with youth
As a public educator, I have the pleasure of doing sexual violence prevention work with youth. I spoke to Lanark County youth about online sexual violence and they turned my presentation into a video that was distributed to local schools.
